When to look for the best Perseids Meteor Shower?

Hey shooting-stars seekers!

August is one of the most popular times of the year to observe meteors showers according to PAGASA-DOST. If you're in the Philippines, Perseides Meteor Shower will be observed with it's peak in the late evening and early morning hours of August 12-13 given that clear sky condition exist. Also, meteors are easiest to observe if there is no moonlight and light pollutions.

Hey did you know that according to our friend WIKI, "The Perseids are a prolific meteor shower associated with the comet Swift–Tuttle. The Perseids are so called because the point from which they appear to come, called the radiant, lies in the constellation Perseus. The name derives in part from the word Perseides, a term found in Greek mythology referring to the sons of Perseus."

What's more exciting is that  Perseids Meteor Shower will be extra awesome this year according to NASA. That's because the Earth will collide with more material than usual from Comet Swift-Tuttle, which is the source of the Perseids. Jupiter's gravity has tugged the debris stream in such a way that Earth will move closer to the middle of the stream, rather than the edge, NASA officials said in a statement.

"I'm so excited to see this...hope the sky permits :)"
